REFLECTIVE TEACHING

Journal # 7 For this week, Halloween was approaching so with group 1004 it seemed fair to do a class that surrounded this theme for students to learn about Halloween history, a common vocabulary used during that date and a part of the class, the post to be more precise crafts were made to create halloween objects, each activity became a group. The last activity that was to create a craft was intended to promote cooperative work and the projection of the video was for students to have an idea of the origins of Halloween since many of us linked it with our cultural history and actually our culture appropriate other customs. One of the pending things to improve from the past classes was my instruction on the activities, so that for each one I had to show one or two examples that served as a guide, it was something that definitely improved the fluency of the class.

Journal # 6 For this week I decided to continue covering in the 1002 grade environmental issues so I basically brought a class that dealt with indigenous knowledge, videos with awareness lessons, and causes and effects of environmental problems. I think it is important that students also acquire knowledge of other parts, other content and not only cover thematics surrounding grammar and vocabulary topics, but also learn English through other subjects. The class developed much better than the previous one, the time management, the transition of the activities and the socialization for each activity were done in a more appropriate way and the essential thing is that the students have learned.  On the other hand, 1004, we continued with the development of the innovation plan, this time the students brought the information that was going to be displayed, so the important thing was that they summarized what natural parks were to be displayed and their information, in ad...

JOURNAL # 5 During this week, significant things happened. In the case of grade 1002 it was the first time they came to watch me, so of course I was a little looking forward to what would happen, personally I preferred not to tell my students about the observation but a few minutes before they found out. The group that was going to observe me was 1002, I brought all my activities and because the class did it according to those activities within a time range that allowed me to develop each one. but obviously I felt that I was speeding to cover all the activities which did not allow me to properly socialize each one. At the end of the class, it was time for feedback and, obviously, among the points to discuss was that same, the transition of activities. Journal 4 For the  fourth week of teaching practices, things continued normally for both classrooms with activities and class development, and those activities that were prepared for last week were brought to this week of teaching practices. One of those activities with 1002 was the socialization of a poster in which through a profession they said what things they should or should not do in that profession, as a way to make use of the vocabulary of the professions and modal verbs. Each group stood in front of all his classmates and explained their statements, although not much they talked about, they are credited that according to my practice coordinator there were some students who usually never participate and that time they did.  With the group 1004  during the week, activities such as the showing of a video by Mr Bean were made, the poster where the anecdote was written was socialized, and the present continuous was emphasized, among other things. Journal 3 For the third week, the realization of the classes did not occur because on the part of the mayor's office, they took the "Martes de Prueba" project to school precisely in the hours in which I teach, therefore my classes with 1002 were not made, besides that Friday is the other day that I give classes to the two groups, neither could be done because there was delivery of notes and 1004 students had an activity that they had to attend. So the only day available, was Wednesday to teach to 1004. With the students of 1004, they were shown a video about a man who collected plastic from the streets and made art or portraits without the use of any material for paintings and based on that I wanted a moment of conversation between everyone, which what was the main message of the video and that one could comment on it. Journal 2  In the second week of classes, something that influences is that since there was already a previous interaction with the students, one as a teacher enters the classes with a more pleasant or close attitude with the students. During this week, as there are usually classes two days a week for each group, adding that Fridays is the day I teach the two groups, Friday classes could not be done, so only do one class per group. Group 1002, stopped working future forms and started with modal verbs, to start the class had to give a broad explanation of the subject, from its functions and purposes to then open space for them to solve exercises on the creation and organization of sentences, as well as instructions on a group work that they must present in the next class.
